Mm, I like the concept of using dark unmisted leaves to frame a misted silhouette of trees further away. I feel the composition could have been a bit better, though - the framing seems a bit sloppy.
Thank you for your critique. The framing was definitely was sloppy due to where I had to stand to get the shot (fallen tree over a ledge that leads to a river). However, I would love to try and re-capture the shot as I have been practicing my framing and lighting. Before I forget, you have an amazing gallery! What do you use for equipment? I find that using a digital SLR does not give me the same results as what I am used to with film (aka Pentax K-body). Thanks again!
Thanks! I just use a point & shoot, albeit a relatively high end one (Canon G10.) I actually rather dislike D/SLRs - I hate bulk, and I've got a grudge against the digital photography community at large that emphasize technical skills over simple composition. Not that I'm a professional, just making a few dollars here and there, but... well. My opinion anyway.
I've never had the money to try film. Something I'd like to do someday - developing your own film sounds like an absolutely lovely process by all accounts.
I actually looked at the Canon G10 but had an opportunity to get the Nikon D80 for $500.00. Can not pass that up. Anyhow, thank you for your opinions as not a lot of people here seem to give constructive criticism especially when needed. Keep in touch!
